Baggage Poem

Baggage Poem

We walked up to bag check and they said your bag was too heavy

“Unpack it” the lady said.

You gave me a look of doubt, like unpacking it was too much work.

“Just unpack it! It will work.” I said.

I grew frustrated.

You agreed to let me help you unpack the suitcase.

We wore some of the items, put some in our carry ons, and transferred some of your stuff to my suitcase because it had a ton of space in it.

“Ali you need to watch out if there are sharp things inside the bag.”

“I know how to handle sharp objects silly” as I picked up a huge knife effortlessly out of the bag.

After a little while, the weight of the bag went down. We were ready to go.

“You’re good to go” said the lady.

You looked at me with relief, fear still in your eyes. Maybe you thought they would lose your bag or something during the flight. I wasn’t really sure.

I grabbed your hand and walked with you to the gate.

“ Our bags will not get lost, don’t worry.” I assured you.

You smirked. A sense of relief came from you.

“Ali, why did you get so frustrated before?”

Well because last time that happened he didn’t want to unpack it.

He turned away and walked back home.
